SV Carbon was founded in 2006 and has since grown to be the biggest CDM project developer in Malaysia and the third biggest in ASEAN with strong experience in palm oil and renewable energy projects.

In January 2008, YTL Corporation Berhad purchased a majority stake in company and the name was changed to YTL-SV Carbon Sdn. Bhd.

YTL was formed as a construction company in 1955 and has since developed into one of the dominating industrial groups in Malaysia (www.ytl.com) with interests in construction, power, cement, water , high speed rail, telecommunications, properties, resorts, and hotels. YTL brings to YTL-SV Carbon :- A strong commitment to address climate change from a business perspective A strong track record implementing projects in (energy,) clean energy, water, wastewater treatment and infrastructure An interest and ability to invest in clean energy and environmentally-friendly projects

YTL-SV Carbon will build on the strength of the two parent companies to expand into new sectors and countries and to further develop the business concepts.
